VANS VAULT – AUTHENTIC PREMIUM:

Within the Vans family, their Vault line is the pinnacle, numero uno, top shotta boutique collection, which only utilizes the most premium materials/collaborations, and is only available at a handful of select accounts worldwide. Most of you are knowing this already, but for the new passengers on board, that’s what’s up with Vans Vault. KICKS/HI is one of those select accounts and is the only one in Hawaii. This Authentic Premium is a gorgeous navy blue Italian leather (BUTTER SOFT!) with an all white outsole, Vault heel tab and thin flat laces (SUPER BASED!). I am in love (not “in like”) with this shoe. There is something real dope about it, but that is the beauty of most silhouettes in the Vault line.

TAKA HAYASHI for VANS VAULT – SIERRA TREK:

I don’t know about y’all but Taka Hayashi has been straight BODYING these releases he does for the Vault line. This is a natural progression from the super popular Derby shoe he murked last season. As obvious as the lows look to purchase, DO NOT SLEEP ON THE MID. Either way, these shoes are, as corporate dudes like to pontificate: “Really on trend”. The crepe outsole is a win. The lace systems are wins. The round hiking laces on the low and the round leather laces on the mid are wins. There is not one detail that I don’t like, and I am a stickler for details (so much so that I have gone and gutted my entire itunes library because I didn’t like how I tagged all my songs…all 50,000+ songs…SMH

NIKE SB – MARCH ’12 ARRIVALS:

Salazar’s should only be in leather uppers. They are a completely different shoe otherwise.

This yellow Janoski is speaking to me. I’m not sure in what language yet, but I like what its saying – even if I don’t quite understand it…yet. I can just see them with these military olive chinos and it looks dumb fresh in my head, but then again, this is the same guy that used hipster cuff his Z.Cavariccis to make MC Hammer effects to my pants in the 8th grade…so take all of these musings with a grain of salt… Oh, and yes, that is a re-up on the black suede/grey check Janoski. You’re welcome.

I get that your favorite hue might be Jay-Z blue, but this royal blue right here is blue of choice. No avatar. This makes two Koston colorways in a row that I REALLY LIKE.

Dunks are making a slight comeback recenetly. We have noticed an increase in Dunks and AF1s purchases since last year, which just proves that classics never get deaded…they just fade out every once and while…

Note the deep blue outsole & black suede upper on the Dunk Low. I like the murdered out tongue tag. This is one of those ALL DAY shoes.

This Dunk Mid is the return of the sea crystal blue. On this shoe, the sea crystal pops so hard against the pebbled, black leather. Great contrast here.

NIKE DUNK HIGHS:

I am not telling you the earth is round for the first time in your life when I say that Nike SB Dunks are on a whole other level of comfort versus a regular Dunk. This is as much a nod to Nike SB and the job they have done with retooling a classic silhouette as it is somewhat of a letdown to wear a non-SB Dunk. I mean, this can be remedied by pulling out the insole from one of our SB Dunks and inserting it into a non-SB Dunk for somewhat of a relief. What I’m trying to say is, do that little insole transplant so you can get your feet into these classic color blocked Dunks. They are of the pebbled leather nature (not suede), but are very much fresh colorways. I am going to buy the orange dunks, go and get some gold stars you get in 1st grade for doing your homework, and then stick them all over the side panels…VOILA SUPREME DUNK, KID! (Notsomuch)
